What we collect
Account details (name, email, date of birth), profile content (photos, bio, interests, preferences), approximate or chosen location, messages and activity (likes, views, matches), device and push-notification tokens, payment status (card details are handled by Stripe and never stored by us), and, if you use face verification, a face template derived from your selfie.
How we use it
To run the service: show your profile to other members, match you, deliver messages, calls and notifications, process payments, prevent fraud and abuse, and provide support. We send service emails and, with an unsubscribe link, promotional emails.
Posts and meet-ups
Posts you publish are visible to other members as you choose (everyone, or matches only). Meet-up titles, time and general area are visible to members; the exact address is shared only with guests the host approves. Members you meet through events can see your name and photo.
Who sees it
Other signed-in members see your profile information. Service providers process data for us: Google Firebase (hosting, database, storage, authentication, messaging), Stripe (payments), and our email provider. We do not sell your personal data.
Face verification
Matching is performed in your browser or device. A numeric face template may be stored to confirm that your profile photos show you. You can delete it by deleting your account.
Your rights
You can edit your profile at any time, block and report members, and permanently delete your account and personal data from Settings → Delete Account. Deletion removes your profile, photos, matches and messages; payment records may be retained as required by law. Contact support@madeforeachother.app for access or other requests.
Legal bases and sharing
We share data only with the providers named above, with other members as described, when the law requires it, to protect people from harm or fraud, or in a business transfer with the same protections. We do not sell or share your personal data for cross-context advertising.
Biometric information
If you choose face verification, we process a face template from your selfie only to confirm your photos show you. It is never sold or used to identify you elsewhere, and it is deleted when you delete your account. Verification is optional.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live (for example California and other US states, the UK or the EU), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, to object to or limit certain uses, and to not be discriminated against for using these rights. Most of these can be done in Settings; for anything else email support@madeforeachother.app and we will reply within 30 days.
Cookies and local storage
We use browser storage for sign-in, your theme and language choices, and to remember which link brought you here (for referral rewards and to learn which invitations work). We do not use advertising cookies. Error reports (Sentry) may include technical details such as browser type.
International use
The service is operated from the United States and your data is processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate.
Retention and security
We keep data while your account is active and delete it when you delete your account. Data is encrypted in transit; access is limited by security rules and staff access controls.
Children
The service is for adults only (18+). If we learn that someone under 18 is using it we will delete the account.
